About The Position

AAA USA is hiring an experienced Marine Shipfitter to support marine and shipbuilding projects throughout the Gulf Coast region. The position involves fabricating, assembling, and installing structural parts of ships and other marine vessels according to blueprints, specifications, and shipyard standards. The role supports long-term shipbuilding and marine construction programs in Pascagoula, Mississippi; Lockport, Louisiana; and Houma, Louisiana, and requires willingness to travel or temporarily relocate to those locations.

Requirements

Minimum 3+ years of ship fitting or related fabrication experience in a shipyard or heavy industrial setting.
Ability to read and understand shipyard drawings and blueprints.
Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, cutting torches, and measuring instruments.
Familiarity with shipyard safety regulations and procedures.
Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in various environmental conditions.
Willingness to travel or temporarily relocate to Pascagoula, MS; Lockport, LA; or Houma, LA.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine layout, assembly, and installation procedures.
Cut, align, fit, and tack ship structural parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
Lay out reference points and lines on ship components using measuring instruments.
Assemble hulls, bulkheads, frames, and other structural components in proper alignment.
Use cutting torches, grinders, and hand tools to prepare metal surfaces and cut material.
Ensure quality and accuracy in fitting and fabrication work.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area.
Assist with lifting and positioning large components using cranes, hoists, or rigging.
Collaborate with welders, pipefitters, and other trades to complete vessel construction or repair.
