About The Position

This role acts as the vital link between clients and the technical team at Ignition Marine, a leading marine solutions provider. The Service Advisor will translate complex mechanical issues into clear solutions, orchestrate service schedules, and drive the client experience. This position involves rapid-response communication, precision estimating, workflow orchestration, financial integrity, data command, and overseeing the boat delivery experience. The ideal candidate will have a technical mindset and the ability to speak the language of mechanics, even if not a mechanic themselves.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the yachting marine industry (service or operations).
  • Technical mindset with knowledge of marine engines (Mercury, Yamaha, Volvo, Cummins).
  • Ability to understand technical manuals and explain repairs to non-technical clients.
  • Advanced computer skills, including comfort with multiple systems simultaneously (scheduling software, inventory management, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple open work orders, track shifting priorities, and coordinate across departments.
  • Ability to maintain loyal customer relationships (company has over 95% returning customers).
  • Personal resilience, with the capacity to demonstrate a growth mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Own the client relationship by responding to inquiries within a 2-hour window and maintaining transparent communication.
  • Create accurate service quotes and estimates, verifying parts compatibility and estimating labour hours.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager, Parts Manager, and Service Supervisor to coordinate scheduling, lift bookings, and technician dispatch.
  • Assist with the invoicing lifecycle, ensuring accurate capture of labour and parts, and collecting payments before boat delivery.
  • Maintain rigorous data accuracy in management systems, updating engine hours, serial numbers, and client profiles.
  • Personally oversee the boat delivery experience, walking clients through completed work, ensuring the vessel is pristine, and keys are tagged.
