Position Overview - We are seeking an organized, high-energy, and customer-focused Marine Service Writer to join our team in Minocqua, WI. As the face of our service department, you will be the vital link between our customers and our marine technicians. This is a year-round, full-time position perfect for someone who excels at communication, loves problem-solving, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, premium environment.

Requirements

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical customers.
  • Proficient with computers, dealership management software (or ability to learn quickly), and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong multitasking skills with an eye for detail and the ability to manage a busy schedule.
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude and a genuine interest in the boating/marine lifestyle.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a service writer, service advisor, or in a high-volume customer service role is preferred but we would be willing to train the right candidate (marine, automotive, or powersports industry experience is a massive plus).

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly, listen to their service requests, and accurately document their boating issues.
  • Generate detailed work orders, communicate customer needs to the service technician team, and schedule service appointments efficiently.
  • Provide customers with timely updates regarding the status of their boats, explain repair recommendations from technicians, and deliver accurate cost estimates.
  • Process warranties, handle billing and payments, and maintain organized digital customer records.
  • Ensure a premium customer experience from drop-off to pick-up, finalizing paperwork so our clients leave confident and ready to get back on the water.
