Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Civil, Environmental Engineering or related field with 3 to 5 years of related experience.
  • Prefer at least 3 years’ experience in a superintendent role on a contract with a value of $10M+.
  • Marine specific project experience required.
  • Experience in Heavy Construction (site-work, roads or environmental).
  • Experience with NYS DOT preferred.
  • Must be capable of meeting deadlines.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and follow-through capability.
  • Verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to accurately process written documents.
  • Able to perform duties in a timely manner.
  • Must be highly organized.
  • Able to interface and communicate effectively with company, clients and field personnel at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a project by leading all crews and subcontractors to ensure completion safely, on time, and on budget.
  • Responsible for overall job safety as per the safety manual, ensuring test holes are dug and marked where required.
  • Report any damage to Utility lines to the Project Manager.
  • Ensure the job site meets all OSHA standards, including cleanliness.
  • Ensure all personnel on site follow safety protocols, including AHA's and Tool Box Talks.
  • Submit daily time sheets each workday, ensuring accuracy of time sheets and equipment.
  • Coordinate all work with Sub-contractors and all Utility requirements with providers.
  • Schedule Labor and Equipment with the Project Manager and Dispatcher daily by 1:00 PM for the following day.
  • Submit a rolling two-week look ahead, updated weekly to the Division Manager & General Super.
  • Secure Site Plans on the Trailer wall in the Field Office.
  • Plan out work on the project four weeks in advance.
  • Meet regularly with the Project Manager and/or Project Engineer to review and coordinate upcoming work and needs (equipment, material, subcontractors).
  • Supervise and ensure all tasks are carried out by Foremen.
