About The Position

This is a paid internship where interns are responsible for the general care and maintenance of all marine mammals in assigned areas. Areas will be assigned after hire and may include working with dolphins and pinnipeds. The role involves interacting with guests, maintaining cleanliness of animal areas and facilities, and assisting with animal care, feeding, and training sessions.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must possess strong swimming skills and be able to pass an on-site swim test.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Driver’s License.
Must be comfortable speaking in front of large crowds.
Must be articulate and able to clearly speak, read, and write in English.
Must be willing to listen and follow both written and verbal instructions.
Must be willing and able to work 40 hours a week, both indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions.
Must be willing and able to work in and around cold saltwater.
Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Must possess the mental and physical capacities necessary to perform primary responsibilities.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

3 months of previous experience in animal care and training and/or completed college level courses in a related science preferred.
SCUBA certification preferred.
