The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) is seeking a Marine Generator Repair Technician responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of boats, generators, all-terrain vehicles, and motorcycles, including all associated systems. This role involves installing complete assemblies, repairing and replacing components, conducting electronic engine analyses, testing and repairing computer-controlled engines, and working with high voltage electrical systems. The technician will diagnose issues, complete work orders, repair specialized equipment, winterize boats, and troubleshoot gas, diesel, and propane generators. Preventive maintenance and testing of all repaired equipment are also key duties. Employees are considered "Essential Employees" and may be required to work 24/7, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, especially during hazardous weather or highway conditions. The work is performed outdoors in various weather conditions or indoors and may involve moving objects up to 70 pounds. Exposure to extreme heat, fumes, exhaust, and hazardous materials is possible.
