About The Position

Responsible for assisting the Chief Engineer and all other departments of the vessel as necessary in the operating, maintaining and repairing of all vessel Electrical systems and processes. This includes electric generating systems, heating and ventilation systems, vessel house systems, consumer installations, frequency inverters, factory PLC controls systems and automated processing equipment, fish catching systems, and electrical and electronic systems. The role requires knowledge of Kongsberg systems and support for all ASC policies and company philosophies. The position also involves attending and participating in company-sponsored training programs and outside training in management or engineering related courses. Communication is emphasized, with an expectation to ask for help when needed. The role also includes maintaining and updating the electrical parts inventory and ordering.

Requirements

Ability to troubleshoot all indicated Electrical systems.
Ability to read ISO Electrical drawings.
Excellent teamwork and assistant abilities.
Competent participant in vessel’s abandon ship, fire-fighting and man overboard drills.
Ability to interface in a cooperative and businesslike manner with company vendor representatives, shipyard representatives and outside contractors.
Must be 18 years or older.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of factory trawlers electrical equipment.
Knowledge of sequential automated processing.
Knowledge of Kongsberg systems.
