About The Position

Shape the World Around You – As a Marine Construction Manager with our Earth and Environment Applied Solutions (EEAS) team, you’ll take a leading role in transformative, multidisciplinary marine construction programs at a remote site near Squamish, BC. This rotational position (two weeks on, two weeks off) places you at the center of complex marine and civil works that support WSP’s engineers, scientists, and operational divisions across Canada. You will work daily 12–13‑hour shifts, and all travel to and from site is covered by WSP. This is a temporary role running from May 2026 to February 2027 with opportunity for extension.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of construction experience, including minimum 5 years as a Construction Manager on large marine infrastructure projects.
  • Willingness to work rotational shifts (day/night) and travel 100% of the time to Squamish, BC.

Nice To Haves

  • University degree in Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline) is an asset.
  • Experience with large‑diameter drilled caissons, freighter terminals, and complex marine works is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Procore, IDoc's, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • PMP or Professional Engineer designation is an asset.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver construction oversight for large‑scale marine infrastructure projects with an unwavering focus on safety, scope, quality, and schedule.
  • Lead the development and execution of construction work plans, including site safety, logistics, marine interfaces, and contractor coordination.
  • Serve as a primary liaison with clients, engineering teams, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and seamless communication.
  • Manage RFIs, change orders, directives, and documentation workflows using project‑approved systems.
  • Respond to site incidents and support investigations and corrective actions.
  • Oversee field teams and subcontractors to ensure precise, timely, and high‑quality project delivery.
  • Provide project updates, progress tracking, and trend forecasting to senior leadership.
  • Champion health, safety, and environmental excellence throughout all phases of marine and civil construction.
  • Mentor field staff and lead the development of practical, timely solutions to daily construction challenges, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance site culture.
