About The Position

To operate the marinator tumbler and mix ingredients and record pertinent information on designated forms and communicate with supervisor, support and other. This position ensures all instructions for marination mixture and product flow are followed, comprehending marination paperwork. It involves setting up paperwork and scales, ordering seasonings and ingredients, tracking batch times, taking temperatures of the mix and batches, and assisting other lines. The role also includes working with process control to weigh product pieces, document weight, and record downtime. The Marinator participates as a team member, fostering cohesiveness, identifying issues, and supporting the team leader. Familiarity with Simmons' operating systems (quality, security, office environment, company policies) and understanding one's role in supporting these systems, including communicating concerns and improvement ideas, is also part of the position. The role may involve performing other duties as necessary to support business objectives.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Perform basic math.
  • Have basic computer skills.
  • A minimum of 6 months to 1 year of prior experience.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain company-issued pallet jack certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference for poultry or food processing organization experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the marinator tumbler and mix ingredients.
  • Record pertinent information on designated forms and communicate with supervisor, support and other.
  • Ensure that all instructions for marination mixture and the amount of product flow are followed and comprehend the marination paperwork.
  • Set up paperwork and scales prior to start of shift and order all seasonings for each mix and ingredients and any product needed for that day's orders.
  • Track time of batches from start to finish while communicating to support how much product is needed for each batch.
  • Take temperature of marinator mix and each batch marinated during shift and help marinate for other lines as needed.
  • Work with process control to weigh pieces of product per batch and document weight.
  • Record any downtime for the department.
  • Participate as a member of the Team in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies.
  • Coordinate work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members and attend appropriate team meetings.
  • Foster strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues (e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes) and identify/resolve areas that lack cohesiveness.
  • Maintain familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies) and understand this position's role in support of these systems, including communicating concerns and improvement ideas.
  • Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
