About The Position

Under the direction of the Park Superintendent, the Marina Temp. Park Superintendent I will assist in supervising and performing technical work related to marina operations, marina landscape, and dock maintenance. This role involves supervising and carrying out various operating tasks for historical and recreational programming, campgrounds, trails, partnerships, day use operations and maintenance, grounds keeping, housekeeping, education, equipment maintenance, special events, collections management, coordination with park concessions and the marina store, emergency response, and accident prevention. The Superintendent will also be responsible for hiring, training, and supervising seasonal staff, managing fee and permit sales, overseeing office operations including computer tasks, maintaining records, preparing reports, and assisting with agency special events and projects at Lewis & Clark SRA and other district/agency locations.

Requirements

  • Two years of coursework in an institution of higher education AND one year of related experience.
  • Experience (paid or volunteer) in park management or related field may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
  • Other related fields may include (but not limited to) the following: wildlife, fisheries, natural resource management, environmental science, public relations, tourism/hospitality, business or public administration, education/interpretation, history, cultural resource management, recreation, retail management, criminal justice, and horticulture.
  • Driver's license is required.
  • Ability to plan, manage, analyze and evaluate park programs.
  • Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and application of park and cultural resources management and conservation.
  • Knowledge of departmental rules and regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain community and public relations with business, special interest groups, and state, local and federal agencies.
  • Knowledge of park operations, administration and financial management.
  • Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
  • Ability to supervise subordinate staff and to enforce park rules and regulations.

  • Assist with agency special events and projects at Lewis & & Clark SRA and other district/agency locations.
