About The Position

Wasauksing First Nation is accepting applications for a Marina Cashier and Dock Attendant. The Cashier/Dock Attendant will provide superior front-line service to customers ordering and purchasing goods and services from the Marina and Marina store.

Requirements

  • previous experience working in the marina/campground business
  • experience with cash register and point of sale terminal operations
  • Experience working with marina fuels
  • Boat knowledge (docking and tying up for power & sailboats)
  • Experience in general cleaning & upkeep of facilities
  • Customer service skills
  • Solid work ethic
  • Able to work independently & part of a team
  • Office skills
  • WHMIS & First Aid
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable personal vehicle
  • Willing to work flexible hours as required, including evenings and weekends
  • This position requires the individual to work with various families, youth and children. To protect children, youth and vulnerable persons, Wasauksing First Nation requires the individual to provide a vulnerable sector. Or criminal record check

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to speak, read and understand Anishnaabemowin (Ojibway Language) is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Managers will be notified of any issues to be resolved or deadlines that cannot be met by reporting position, prior to the due date.
  • Employees are encouraged to recommend ideas for the improvement of their department and job that are consistent with the departments result statement, work and standards.
  • All innovation will be quantified, tested, and improved, then documented for routine implementation.
  • Problems with any system must be brought to the attention of manager in writing so the system can be improved within the structure of the operation manual.
  • All policy memoranda indicating changes in policy and/or procedure will be stored in the operations manual, until the time an updated procedure is provided.
  • Employees will provide staff assistance as requested; each employee may be asked from time to time to cover other areas of accountability and/or departments.
  • All business communications, whether verbal, visual, or written, whether for internal or external use, will be professional in tone and content and according to any applicable and existing Human Resources policies and standards.
  • Employees will respect each other’s time, space, and need for concentration.
  • Socializing and interruptions must not impede workflow.
  • Employees will have bi-weekly regularly scheduled meetings with their manager.
  • All employees will ensure a safe working environment is maintained.
  • Wasauksing First Nation is a drug and alcohol free workplace.
  • You will be working in sensitive and confidential circumstances and are expected to maintain that confidence at work and out of work.

  • Perform other duties as necessary.
