About The Position

The Marina Attendant is responsible for assisting incoming and departing vessels, connecting utilities, fueling boats, and maintaining the marina facilities. This role requires a positive attitude, the ability to work outdoors and around water, and flexibility in scheduling. The attendant will also support marina events, safety procedures, and retail operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to swim and comfort working around the water.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and remain active/standing for extended periods.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed for marina operations and weather events.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous marina or dockhand experience preferred.
  • Customer service, boating, or fuel-handling experience preferred.
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm for working outdoors and interacting with guests.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist incoming and departing vessels, helping captains safely dock and undock boats, including in challenging wind and current conditions.
  • Connect water and electrical services to boats and monitor dock lines and utilities during changing weather conditions.
  • Fuel vessels safely and assist with supplies, water services, battery charging, and other boater needs while processing retail transactions.
  • Maintain docks, equipment, grounds, and work areas so they remain clean, safe, and aesthetically excellent.
  • Assist with general marina maintenance projects and repairs, staying alert for safety-related issues.
  • Support hurricane and storm preparation efforts as assigned.
  • Know and follow procedures for radio use, fire, first aid, freeze protection, and oil-spill response.
  • Assist with retail inventories and live-bait keeping procedures and laws as needed.
  • Support tournament and special marina events.
  • Clean and maintain the fuel pier, marina store, equipment, and surrounding areas; perform regular wash-downs to prevent fuel buildup and keep the area free of trash.
  • Keep supervisors informed when supplies are running low.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Marina Supervisor or Marina Director.
