About The Position

We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working with computers, enjoys solving problems, and can stay organized while working independently. This role is ideal for someone who takes initiative, learns quickly, and wants to build a long-term skillset—even without prior GIS experience. The accuracy of our mapping data directly supports critical operations. Your work ensures that systems function correctly and that users can rely on the information we provide every day. This is an onsite position within a collaborative team environment, but much of the work is self-directed, with a focus on quality, consistency, and reliability. Great for someone who enjoys structured, detail-oriented work and likes working independently for long periods. Strong fit for people who take pride in accurate, consistent output. May not be a fit if you need constant variety or fast-changing work. Highly advanced GIS professionals may find the work repetitive.

Requirements

• Comfortable using a PC and learning new software
• Able to logically organize files and confidently save/reopen work
• Strong attention to detail and consistency
• Self-starter who can stay productive without constant supervision
• Willingness to learn and improve over time
• Ability to follow directions and apply feedback
• Good note-taking habits for future reference
• Clear communication (written and verbal)

Nice To Haves

• GIS or mapping experience
• Technical school or college coursework
• Experience working with data, maps, or similar systems

Responsibilities

• Review and update mapping data to keep our system accurate and reliable
• Work with a variety of information sources (digital files, maps, documents) to make updates
• Follow established processes to certify and maintain service area data
• Research and resolve mapping gaps or inconsistencies
• Support internal and external users with mapping-related requests
• Maintain detailed notes and documentation for repeatable, consistent work
