About The Position

Member Access Processing is actively seeking a diligent and detail-oriented individual to join our MAP Defense team. As a MAP Defense Analyst, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the integrity of our financial transactions and ensuring the security of our clients’ sensitive information. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to our clients’ risk mitigation strategies and protection against fraudulent activities. The MAP Defense Analyst will evaluate and assist with clients’ card fraud strategies using Visa DPS products and analytical tools. To excel in this role, we seek a mature individual who can work independently to drive impactful initiatives while being a self-motivated team player. The ideal candidate will be adept at collaborating with colleagues and clients in a highly matrixed environment, demonstrating the ability to identify and assess issues effectively. Additionally, they should be capable of presenting clear and concise viewpoints to stakeholders and management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, cybersecurity, or related discipline preferred.
  • Expertise with Visa DPS products and applications.
  • Advanced knowledge of payment card transaction fraud, emerging fraud typologies, risk mitigation strategies, and the payments industry, with experience analyzing and responding to fraud risks within credit union or financial institution environments.
  • Intermediate excel skills required: proficiency in Pivot Tables, Slicers, VLOOKUP, and other advanced functions.
  • Working knowledge of analytics programming such as: Python, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, etc.
  • Analytical professional with a minimum of five (3) years of experience in Fraud or Risk areas.
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems, and effectively communicate with clients, vendors, and staff.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats and give presentations utilizing various audiovisual support aids; ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality of materials, and good judgement.
  • Flexibility in working hours may be required, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient understanding and knowledge of the financial service industry, preferably credit unions and payments industry.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) preferred.
  • Proven ability to translate business/customer questions and problems into working hypotheses.
  • Exceptional analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with proven ability to execute work with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Utilize programming for fraud detection and intelligence activities across various tools and data elements which analyze and identify fraudulent activities and transactions across various channels and ensure proper mitigation efforts are taken on any significant intelligence related to those findings.
  • Ability to independently analyze available datasets to identify trends and patterns, detect anomalies, and implement rule strategies to mitigate future fraud losses.
  • Aid in the early identification of common points of purchase and suspect activity through intelligence and compromised payment card reporting.
  • Perform client-specific analysis on portfolio data, including customer demographics, activity, spend levels, behavioral scores, and financial information.
  • Support fraud analytics data standards and offer recommendations for current and future needs.
  • Utilize Visa Data Manager’s data and analytic capabilities and industry expertise to develop and implement fraud rules on behalf of MAP clients.
  • Participate in quarterly risk, focus webinars to clients.
  • Provide on-call consultation support to MAP clients as needed.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert with clients and help troubleshoot problems, develop or implement Flash Fraud/RSM rules on behalf of MAP clients.
  • Develop and implement Flash Fraud/RSM rules on behalf of MAP clients.
  • Generate risk scorecards in Visa Data Manager with ancillary data to be delivered to clients at the end of each month.
  • Conduct meetings, research, and rule entry for new client fraud rule on-boarding.
  • Facilitate proactive rule deployment based on high-risk transaction segments (including holidays/weekends).
  • Participate in scheduled night/holiday/weekend fraud monitoring coverage on a rotating basis, including alert review, client notification, and coordination of rule deployments as needed.
