About The Position

Hazelett Corporation is seeking a Manufacturing Training and Workforce Development Specialist to develop and deliver practical training for employees across their manufacturing operations. This role involves creating training materials, teaching employees with varying experience levels, and strengthening skill development within the company. Additionally, the specialist will build relationships with schools and training programs to create opportunities for students to learn about manufacturing careers at Hazelett. This is an onsite position with a regular schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional adjustments needed for second and third shift training.

Requirements

  • Experience developing and delivering training in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to explain technical information clearly and teach people with different backgrounds and learning styles.
  • Strong organization and time management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and schedules.
  • Approachable manner, patience, and ability to provide constructive feedback.
  • Initiative to work independently, research unfamiliar topics, and collaborate with technical experts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Acrobat.
  • Sound judgment when handling employee information.
  • Flexibility to occasionally adjust schedule to work with employees on second and third shifts.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience creating videos or using a learning management system.
  • Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Technology, Training and Development, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience creating technical training materials and teaching both individuals and groups.
  • Experience working with schools, technical centers, or workforce development programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver employee training, including creating and maintaining practical training materials on topics such as safety, applied math, blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and Hazelett equipment and processes.
  • Teach employees individually and in groups, adapting the approach to different experience levels and learning needs.
  • Develop quizzes, practical exercises, and other methods to assess understanding and identify training gaps.
  • Create presentations, videos, screen recordings, and other resources for the learning management system.
  • Partner with managers and technical experts to identify training needs, ensure material accuracy, and coordinate training around production schedules.
  • Gather feedback and recommend improvements to training programs.
  • Build student and community partnerships by developing relationships with technical centers, high schools, colleges, and other education and workforce programs.
  • Coordinate company tours, job shadows, and other opportunities for students to explore manufacturing careers.
  • Meet with educators to understand their programs and identify ways Hazelett can support student learning.
  • Coordinate Hazelett’s existing donation programs for technical centers and other learning programs.
  • Occasionally attend career fairs and community events to connect with prospective employees and share opportunities at Hazelett.
