What You Will Do: The Manufacturing Tooling Engineer will design and generate new tooling solutions from scratch, including but not limited to: Forge dies Forge press tooling Heat treat tooling Tools to aid maintenance team efforts Equipment upgrade tooling, brackets, hardware Manage forge dies, including maintenance, updates, and upgrades to forge die prints Develop heat treat survey thermocouple prints to support production and improvement projects to support production and improvement projects Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify tooling needs, improve efficiency, and drive production improvements Conduct tooling inspections, troubleshoot issues, and guide necessary repairs Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tooling processes and reduce waste / equipment downtime Stay informed about industry trends, materials, and new technologies to drive innovation and performance Document tooling designs, processes, and inventory management systems to maintain clear and accurate records Oversee and manage die material inventory, ensuring accurate forecasting and timely ordering of materials What You Will Learn: Advanced manufacturing and forging techniques used in aerospace and defense industries Strategies for optimizing tooling processes to improve operational efficiency and product quality Best practices for managing and forecasting die material inventory in a fast-paced production environment Cross-functional collaboration skills to effectively coordinate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams Exposure to state-of-the-art tooling design software and technologies. Problem-solving approaches to address design challenges and improve tooling reliability Insights into Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies, if applicable
