About The Position

Red 6 seeks a self-motivated and detail-oriented Hardware Technician to bring augmented reality to life. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic components and systems. This role requires a high level of precision and adherence to industry standards, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic fast paced, growing technology startup bringing innovative augmented technology to the front lines. The Red 6 startup environment will allow you to define our production system and wear many hats across multiple functions. As our first production technician in the company, additional duties will include inventory management, shipping and receiving.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or technical certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in electronics assembly or production in an aerospace or high reliability environment.
• Proficiency in soldering and wire harnessing; IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certification preferred.
• Familiarity with testing procedures, diagnostic equipment, and troubleshooting techniques for electronic systems.
• Strong understanding of electronic schematics, assembly drawings, and technical documentation.
• Ability to use various hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in soldering and wire harnessing; IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certification preferred.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and integrate electronic components, circuit boards, and wiring systems according to engineering schematics and work instructions.
• Perform soldering, crimping, and wire harnessing, ensuring all connections meet IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards.
• Follow detailed instructions for high level assemblies
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
• Conduct functional tests on electronic assemblies
• Document test results, non-conformances, and repairs accurately in production logs and ERP systems.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new production processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to suggest modifications that enhance product performance and reliability.
• Inventory management, shipping and receiving.
