Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering/Technology, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or directly related field required
  • Minimum seven years’ proven leadership experience in a technical environment required
  • Ability to evaluate capacity, cycle time, manufacturing costs, and capital project justification
  • Strong communication skills with all levels of staff
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean practices
  • Skilled in budget preparation
  • Ability to communicate technical items to non-technical personnel
  • Ability to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with plastics injection molding and roto molding preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead manufacturing launch of new and revised products including tooling, equipment, methods and shop floor support
  • With the team and through personal contributions, troubleshoot manufacturing assembly and assembly problems, identify root causes and implement corrective actions that prevent recurrence
  • Lead and execute engineering projects through direct contribution and through team members
  • Design and implement the layout of equipment and workstations to ensure maximum efficiency and product flow
  • Select, develop, coach and evaluate department personnel, establishing clear expectations and hold accountable for results
  • Lead plastics process engineering activities, including process development, tooling qualification, validation, and optimization, to ensure safe, consistent, and cost-effective production of plastic components
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership to Plastics Process Engineers in troubleshooting molding issues, establishing process parameters and standards, and implementing improvements that reduce scrap, improve quality, and increase throughput
  • Maintain and prioritize project backlog with defined owners, milestones, and completion dates.
  • Actively involved in Tier Meetings, working with a cross-functional team to resolve technical manufacturing issues
  • Communicate project status, resource constraints, risks, and decisions requiring escalation
  • Develop team capabilities and enhance cross-training to reduce dependence on individual technical experts
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
