The Manufacturing Technologist will lead strategic special projects, drive improvement initiatives, define project parameters, eliminate non-value-added activities, develop manufacturing strategies, and provide production support.

Requirements

  • A college or university diploma in Mechanical, Avionics, Electrical, Industrial, Electromechanics Engineering, Aerospace Manufacturing or in a relevant area.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and have a good visualization in 3D with good analytical skills.
  • Good logical mechanical skill.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work with computer-based software such as Catia, AutoCad, Enovia, etc.
  • Ability to work with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software such as SAP, etc.
  • Excellent team player, perseverant and have good judgement.
  • Good command of French, written and spoken and have a good knowledge of English.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic special projects (ramp-up, recurring cost reduction, SAP/MES transformation, standard work, new program industrialization) aligned with business priorities and operational excellence objectives.
  • Drive targeted improvement initiatives (e.g., Methods documentation, SAP/MES analyses), identifying needs and standardizing practices to optimize production performance.
  • Define project charters, success criteria, KPIs, and business cases to support ramp-up readiness, cost reduction, and strategic prioritization.
  • Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities through Lean-based initiatives, delivering measurable improvements in cost, cycle time, quality, and safety.
  • Develop assembly and manufacturing strategies for aircraft components and new programs.
  • Interpret, verify, and approve drawings and engineering documents.
  • Establish requirements for labor, tooling, assembly methods, layouts, ergonomics, health & safety, and production equipment.
  • Develop and validate tools required for manufacturing and assembly, considering geometric tolerancing.
  • Harmonize engineering changes and assembly strategies in close collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Production.
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to pilot, industrialize, and deploy best practices (standard work) across programs and sites.
  • Provide active production support by coordinating problem-solving with support functions.
  • Manage short- to medium-term strategic projects end-to-end (planning, stakeholder alignment, risk management, execution, and site deployment).
