About The Position

Dig Energy is upending the economics of geothermal drilling with a system that cuts borehole installation costs by 80%, making geothermal heating, cooling, and refrigeration the default option for commercial buildings. The company has secured funding from top-tier investors and is deploying rigs on live construction sites, with a focus on scaling toward large projects. The upcoming year is dedicated to team building and refining the equipment and systems for real-time deployment on job sites. This is an on-site role at the Manchester office due to the hands-on nature of the work.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and schematics.
• Resourceful and highly collaborative team player with creative thinking and high attention to detail.
• Comfortable with basic hand tools and electrical wiring.
• Experience with mechanical assembly processes, hydraulics, high-pressure systems, and electrical systems.
• 3+ years of experience as an engineering technician, prototype technician, field service technician, or similar role.
• Willingness and ability to occasionally support field and drilling operations.
• Excitement to work in an early-stage startup deploying its first systems.

Responsibilities

• Electromechanical assembly including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical components.
• Build and redline engineering drawings, providing feedback to the design team.
• Work from engineering documentation and work instructions.
• Perform maintenance on custom drilling equipment.
• Assemble and test drill heads and drill string.
• Provide occasional support to field and drilling teams.
• Offer clear and concise feedback on potential design improvements and new features.
