About The Position

GE Precision Healthcare LLC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Technician for our 1st shift (Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM). This Refurbishment role is responsible for the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of medical devices and components, ensuring high-quality production and adherence to established manufacturing processes. Our Troy site manufactures premium digital X-ray detectors for GE HeatlhCare mammography, interventional and radiography diagnostic imaging systems worldwide. The engineering and manufacturing team designs and builds semiconductor components and assemblies to provide reliable digital imaging hardware that clinicians and patients depend on.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with medical devices or in a highly regulated industry.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity for intricate assembly tasks.
  • Experience with various hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and operating manufacturing software.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., Electronics, Mechanical Engineering Technology) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform intricate assembly of medical devices and sub-assemblies according to work instructions, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
  • Conduct various testing procedures, including functional, electrical, and mechanical tests, using specialized equipment.
  • Identify and troubleshoot production issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Operate and maintain manufacturing equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
  • Document all manufacturing activities, including test results, production records, and non-conformances, accurately and thoroughly.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, quality standards (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA regulations), and company policies.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes and product quality.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, quality control, and other production personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
