About The Position

Innovative-IDM, one of the country’s premier Industrial Automation and Motion Controls distributors and we are looking for a Manufacturing Technician to join our team. As a Manufacturing Technician, you will play a critical role in the production and assembly of our control panels, ensuring quality and efficiency in our manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • 1 – 3 years in a technical manufacturing position.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Must be able to work on their feet for 8 hours per day.
  • Must be able to work consistently from 8am – 5pm with ability to come in early or stay late if needed.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. continuously.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of bills of materials and inventory systems.
  • Knowledge and experience operating a computer and software.
  • Knowledge and use of label and marker printing software.
  • Knowledge and experience of electrical wiring and crimping skills, small to large wire gauge and cable assemblies.
  • Knowledge and experience of electrical soldering.
  • Complete knowledge and experience of hand tools and operating hand tools.
  • Knowledge in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, as well as wire assembly drawings.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and assembly drawings.
  • Ability to complete mechanical modifications to industrial control panel enclosures.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and quality process for ensuring proper assembly of products.
  • Knowledge of wire gauges, types of wires, and color of wires.
  • Analytical skills and ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble control panels according to engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Install components such as PLCs, relays, circuit breakers, terminal blocks, and other electrical devices.
  • Ensure all components are securely mounted and properly aligned.
  • Perform wiring and interconnection of control panels as per wiring diagrams.
  • Strip, crimp, and terminate wires accurately.
  • Label and organize wiring to maintain a clean and professional appearance.
  • Conduct functional tests on control panels to ensure proper operation.
  • Identify and troubleshoot any issues or defects in wiring or components.
  • Verify that all panels meet safety standards and customer requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of panel assembly and wiring activities.
  • Update and revise wiring diagrams and schematics as needed.
  • Prepare documentation for final panel inspections and customer delivery.
  • Work closely with engineering and project management teams to ensure panels meet design specifications.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to address any issues or concerns.
  • Provide input on design improvements and process enhancements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
