The Manufacturing Technician I for Leica Biosystems is responsible for assembling mechanical and optical components. This position is part of Production Team located in Vista, CA and will be an on-site role reporting to the Supervisor, Manufacturing . At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives. You will be a part of the Production Operations Team and report to the Manager, Manufacturing responsible for working to assemble scanners and related products. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent or in lieu of High School diploma, willing to accept 2+ years’ work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Google docs).
  • Ability to learn and understand technical information related to our products offered.
  • Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 25 lb

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year’s assembly experience in electromechanical production environment, ideally in medical device.
  • Identifying product and process issues.
  • Clearly proposing and communicating improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Follow written procedures and perform all steps required to assemble Aperio Digital Pathology scanners and related products.
  • Tasks may include, but are not limited to: Electro-mechanical assembly
  • Routing of cable and harness assemblies
  • Building of optical sub-assemblies
  • Visual and mechanical inspections of components and assemblies.
  • Installing software
  • Perform basic troubleshooting
  • Identify proper focus of optical assemblies viewing through eyepiece or on computer monitor.
  • Complete related paperwork
