About The Position

Eaton's IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Technician for the Night Shift. The core hours for this role are Monday through Friday from 11:00pm - 7:30am. The Manufacturing Technician sets up and operates assigned machinery and gauging equipment to process machined components—from raw materials for pre-heat treatment operations to heat-treated parts for post-heat processing. This role is part of the Mobility Group, which is planned to separate into an independent company by the end of the first quarter of 2027. Compensation and benefits initially offered are based on Eaton's plans, with details to be provided by the new company upon separation closure.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year of CNC machine operator experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Kings Mountain, NC.

Nice To Haves

  • CNC lathe, CNC hob, CNC shaper, CNC shaver, deburring equipment, hard-turn lathe, hard finishing machine, and part stamping equipment.
  • S.P.C. equipment, attribute gauges, O.D. micrometers, bench centers, dial indicators, alignment fixtures, measuring pins, and robotic systems.
  • Hand tools including various wrenches, hammers, air hoses, arbors, plugs, and cups.
  • Process sheets, technical drawings, and S.P.C. control charts.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC lathe, CNC hob, CNC shaper, CNC shavers, cross, deburring equipment, Hard Turn lathe, and/or Hard Finish machines, as assigned.
  • Set up and operate assigned machines in a timely manner.
  • Produce and maintain all part characteristics according to specifications.
  • Select and install tooling as required by the process sheet for setup to manufacture the parts.
  • Visually inspect tools for excessive wear.
  • Obtain inspection from gear lab and, if necessary, readjust setup to obtain proper spline or tooth form, lead, involute, finish and/or size.
  • Inspect product samples for highest quality acceptance using proper inspection procedures and maintain S.P.C. charts, control plans, etc. as required.
  • Reports unusual conditions, safety issues or defective material to a Coach.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Performs minor and preventative maintenance as required.
  • Assist in maintaining atmosphere of continuous improvement and team efforts for accomplishing plant goals by using our Quality systems (e.g., TS 16949) and Environmental system (e.g., ISO 14000).
