About The Position

This role involves repairing, maintaining, and rebuilding all production equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. The technician will coordinate maintenance processes with the production department to minimize impact on output and packaging, respond to repair calls, and perform established preventative maintenance programs. Responsibilities also include assisting with new equipment installation, scheduling maintenance projects, maintaining accurate departmental records, and recording all work in Fiix CMMS. The technician will read and interpret various technical drawings and manuals, ensure equipment adheres to safety requirements, follow safety protocols, maintain good 6S housekeeping standards, and work with contractors as needed. Additional projects and duties to support ongoing business needs may also be assigned.

Requirements

  • Read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics (know symbols)
  • In-depth knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to understand relay logic
  • Ability to perform major electrical repairs
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code
  • Strong knowledge of Allen Bradley and Omron programs
  • Ability to select replacement parts for obsolete components
  • Ability to perform PMs on all equipment
  • Ability to write PMs
  • Ability to lead, critique, and improve Kaizens
  • Ability to champion, guide, and present 6s projects
  • Participate in regular 6s activities
  • Able and willing to correct PPE violations when seen and report continued violations to leads
  • Ability to identify safety hazards and implement corrective actions
  • All prior knowledge and skills requirements for lower levels of technician
  • Ability to apply good judgment, strong work ethics, and integrity on the job
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance
  • 5+ years of experience in pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • 5+ years of experience with DC drives, servos, solenoids, photo eyes, relays, limit switches, and electric motors
  • 5+ years of experience with PLC systems, preferably Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Direct Logic
  • High school diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in electrical or mechanical field or graduation from a trade school
  • Any certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Repair, maintain, and rebuild all production equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Coordinate maintenance processes with the production department in a way in which the production output and packaging is least affected
  • Respond to calls from production and management to make repairs
  • Perform established preventative maintenance programs
  • Assist with all aspects of new equipment installation
  • Assist management with scheduling maintenance projects
  • Maintain accurate and complete departmental records
  • Record all work in Fiix CMMS
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, construction drawings, machine manuals, electrical blueprints/schematics
  • Ensure all equipment adheres to all applicable safety requirements
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain good 6S housekeeping standards
  • Work with contractors as needed
  • Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs
  • Mentor and train Technicians 1 and 2
  • Design and implement equipment improvements
  • Troubleshoot PLC systems to component level
  • Download or upload PLC programs
  • Change and program drives and HMIs
  • Make changes to programs when needed
  • Perform PMs on all equipment
  • Write PMs
  • Lead, critique, and improve Kaizens
  • Champion, guide, and present 6s projects
  • Participate in regular 6s activities
  • Correct PPE violations when seen and report continued violations to leads
  • Identify safety hazards and implement corrective actions
