About The Position

The Manufacturing Technician III is responsible for providing full-time hands-on support and guidance to production staff within assigned manufacturing cells, including operating equipment and contributing to daily production as needed. They may assist the engineering staff with development and implementation of various manufacturing processes. Assignments are generally performed at the direction of a Production Supervisor or manufacturing management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; associate degree in a technical field preferred
  • 4 years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Hands-on mechanical knowledge and experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in measurement with micrometers and calipers
  • Communicates in a clear, organized, and professional manner in both written and oral form
  • Must possess a high degree of energy and drive
  • Provide own source of transportation for any local/day travel, including travel between Indium Corporation facilities

Nice To Haves

  • Equipment (PLC) controls, vision system, GD&T, and CAD software knowledge a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide full-time in-cell technical support, including advanced troubleshooting expertise.
  • Provide guidance and training for manufacturing processes in support of Production Operators and Supervisors to resolve day-to-day issues
  • Serve as an immediate resource to Production Operators and Supervisors to confirm worker compliance to established procedures and work instructions.
  • Verification and implementation of new manufacturing procedures and work instructions.
  • Integrate with manufacturing and quality personnel to proactively identify situations that may negatively impact the production of quality product
  • Routinely circulate within assigned areas and observe production
  • Monitor and verify equipment functionality
  • Actively participate in equipment installation and qualification.
  • Be present, approachable and encourage questions
  • Relay matters of concern to appropriate engineering staff
  • Resolve issues and proactively look for, investigate and identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Follow disciplined product/process development and change control methods
  • Participate in design of custom packaging for new products.
  • Provide assistance in implementing TEO’s (Temporary Engineering Orders)
  • Execute disposition of non-conforming materials and products
  • Authority to sign off on urgent release of metals
  • Keep team members and leaders updated on work status, issues and other job related items
  • Manage projects with disciplines taught and mentored by project management
  • Self-manage projects with trained Cascade Breakdown Charts
  • Log all activity
  • Mentor and train level 1 and 2 manufacturing technicians
  • Function as an effective team member through collaboration, conflict resolution, encouragement, respectful interactions with co-workers, active listening, etc.
  • Works on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned
