About The Position

Under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineer Manager, this role performs complex diagnostics and multi-system troubleshooting. A Mfg. Engineer Tech III is involved in complex, independent problem-solving and contributes to process improvement. This includes functions such as setting up grinding equipment and assisting in ordering necessary tooling for the grinding operation. The role also involves mentoring newer technicians and may require some supervision coverage.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED & Three to Five year technical degree or equivalent related experience.
Green belt in 3 years.
Runoff of new or rebuilt equipment.
Personal Computer Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
Proficient with the Internet.
Above average verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to get along with others.
Can effectively function in a matrix and team environment.
Regular attendance.
Must be a "U.S. Person" (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, U.S. permanent resident, individual granted asylum in the U.S., or refugee in the U.S.) or otherwise qualify for a license permitting them to hold the position due to federal export control laws.

Grinding Knowledge/Experience
Programming of CNC grinders and CNC Turn

Responsibilities

Assigns work to appropriate S&O operator, and Operator B personnel, and instructs them as to proper procedures and gaging methods to be followed.
Assist in setups and troubleshooting on grinding equipment (understand grind wheel capabilities, speeds and feeds).
Providing second ok and review job to be compliant with production routing and/or print requirements.
Takes on complex diagnostics and multi-system troubleshooting, solving harder, non-routine problems independently.
May be involved in root cause analysis, process improvements, and mentoring newer technicians.
Can handle complex, multi-system issues without constant supervision.
Tackles unusual, cross-system failures that require deeper analysis.
May identify and implement process improvements or changes.
Work with Engineering for new part setups (machines and rates) as well as new machine design and application.
Assist in management and order of grinding tooling (grinding wheels, diamonds, jaws, drivers, quills, diamond rolls).
May have expanded safety authorization and the ability to approve certain corrective actions without immediate escalation.
Perform first piece approval per set up approval process.
Operate precision measuring equipment.
Follow Ethics and Safety Programs.
Adhere to all Export, Import and Supply Chain Security Policy requirements relevant to the position.
Follow State and Federal Environmental Compliance Programs.
Adhere to AS9100 Standards.
