About The Position
The Manufacturing Technician II - Cleanroom is responsible for setting up, optimizing, troubleshooting, and continuously improving balloon forming processes and related manufacturing equipment. The role works closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production to meet product quality requirements and improve efficiency, yield, and manufacturing performance. The Technician serves as a technical resource in the cleanroom and helps develop robust, repeatable manufacturing processes. The position is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in a fast-paced medical device manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- At least two years of manufacturing experience.
- Experience with process setup, troubleshooting, and optimization of manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to interpret specifications, procedures, and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment- and process-related issues.
- Experience collecting and analyzing data to support process improvements and yield enhancement.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions about machine setup and process adjustments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move equipment and tooling as needed.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Unable to sponsor employment visas or consider individuals on time-limited visa status.
Nice To Haves
- Manufacturing experience in a regulated environment.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and cleanroom operations.
- Experience in medical device manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot Balloon Forming Machines (BFMs) and related cleanroom manufacturing equipment.
- Develop, test, and optimize machine parameters to ensure balloons meet product specifications and quality requirements.
- Start up, validate, and verify production runs using process checks, measurements, and inspections.
- Collect and analyze process data to identify trends, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and improve yield, efficiency, and product quality.
- Lead continuous improvement activities focused on yield improvement, process optimization, waste reduction, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Investigate manufacturing issues and work with Engineering, Quality, and Production to resolve process concerns.
- Move equipment, tooling, and machines into and out of manufacturing cells as needed to support production requirements.
- Read, follow, and accurately complete required manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and quality records.
- Maintain cleanroom standards and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company procedures.
- Assist in developing and improving manufacturing processes, work instructions, visual standards, and training materials.
- Train and support operators and other technicians on equipment operation, setup activities, and manufacturing processes.
- Communicate process concerns, equipment issues, and improvement opportunities to Engineering and departmental leadership.
- Support production schedules and business needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
