About The Position

Amazon Leo is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,000+ satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to under served communities around the world. Amazon Leo will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity. We are looking for talented technicians to help full-scale production of the Leo satellites. The success of Leo depends on the quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughout, and security of the products that you deliver. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years relevant working with your hands such as kitchen or back of house, mechanics or general assembly.
  • 1 year + experience in fast paced team environment.
  • Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.
  • U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of hands-on experience with precision torque, measurement and inspection devices (i.e., automated and manual torque wrenches, torque drivers, calipers, micrometers, profilometers, optical inspection devices, multi-meters), as well as standard hand tools
  • Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
  • Prior military service a plus

Responsibilities

  • Follow work instructions and safety procedures
  • Assemble and test with emphasis to detail an assortment of avionic, electrical-mechanical assemblies, handle and install fiber-optics, and related hardware
  • Supports some preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems
  • Participate in process improvements, maintain floor stock inventory
  • You will independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables
  • Execute test procedures for component and system level testing maintenance
