About The Position

Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world. We are looking for talented technicians to help full-scale production of the Leo satellites. The success of Leo depends on the quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughput, and security of the products that you deliver. Requirements

  • Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years experience in mechanical or electrical hardware assembly, test, and/or installation
  • Experience in the aerospace industry, automotive industry, medical device industry, aviation, military or other high-reliability operating / manufacturing environment
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with environmental testing - vibration, shock, thermal, EMI/EMC, etc.
  • Experience conducting structural, mechanical or electrical systems integration testing
  • Demonstrated ability to follow electromechanical test requirements
  • Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
  • Experience with forklifts, cranes and heavy equipment (including previous certifications)
  • A demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings, work instructions and standard operating procedures
  • Knowledge of electrical, optical and mechanical systems, antennas, functional testing and/or satellite components
  • Ability to use multiple types of precision measuring instruments

Responsibilities

  • Follow work instructions and safety procedures
  • Assemble and test with emphasis to detail, an assortment of LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds
  • Participate in process improvements, maintain floor stock inventory
  • Independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables
  • Execute test procedures for component and system level testing maintenance
  • Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations
  • Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated
  • Supports some preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems
  • Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients (Using pallet jacks, kit carts, etc)
  • Contribute to improving SOPs and safety procedures
  • Identify process improvements to improve build efficiency
  • Work closely with multiple engineering teams on both early hardware development and setting the stage for later production hardware manufacturing processes.
