About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Technician-I (MCC Cells). The hourly rate for this position is $18.40 per hour. The work schedule is Friday - Sunday, 6 AM - 6 PM. This role involves assembling, fitting, and mounting various components and sub-assemblies for Motor Control Centers and related products. Responsibilities include preparing units for testing, final inspection, wiring, fabricating cables and harnesses, and verifying electrical/mechanical integrity. The technician will also interpret work instructions, gather materials, install components, and ensure quality standards are met. The position requires adherence to safety protocols, maintaining organized work areas, and potentially using material-handling equipment.

Requirements

  • Must have a High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required
  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of Fayetteville; NC will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, fit and mount sub-assemblies, components, and standard and near standard fixed assemblies in Motor Control Centers, Enclosed Control and related assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  • Perform assembly required for test preparation and final inspection.
  • Assemble and wire units, relay panels, panel boards, space heaters, and control panels.
  • Bend and install power cable and leads, fabricate pre-cable unit, panel and MTB harnesses, and power leads.
  • Use established power checking procedures and equipment to verify electrical/mechanical integrity of units assembled.
  • Stage parts for customer orders.
  • Interpret work instructions, shop orders, drawings, and wiring diagrams to determine assembly methods and requirements.
  • Determine required materials, create requisitions, and gather parts from stock.
  • Assemble, fit, and wire components and subassemblies into completed units.
  • Install panels, devices, and electrical components (e.g., meters, relays, transformers, buswork) by mounting and securing in place.
  • Cut, route, connect, and terminate wiring/cabling; build harnesses and perform soldering or crimping as needed.
  • Perform adjustments, alignment checks, modifications, and wiring/mechanical changes to ensure proper function.
  • Inspect work for quality and report issues; verify wiring connections and ensure proper operation.
  • Stage materials and components to support efficient workflow and production process.
  • Use of cranes and material-handling equipment
  • Maintaining records, labeling, and identification practices
  • Adherence to safety, PPE, and hygiene requirements
  • Maintaining clean and organized work areas
  • Ensure compliance where applicable with systems and /or programs such as, but not limited to ISO 9000-2000, ISO 14001, Underwriters Laboratory, NEMA, etc…
  • Participate in and demonstrate understanding of other programs such as Eaton Business System (EBS), Eaton Safety Process (ESP), etc…
  • Know and follow established job specific and facility wide health and safety procedures and rules.
  • Bring health and safety issues, unsafe acts and safety suggestions to management's attention or correct those they can.
  • Actively participate in accident, injury and illness prevention activities.
  • Develop job safety analysis and safe working procedures.
  • Identify and correct hazards and unsafe conditions.
  • Accident, near-miss accident or potential hazard investigations.
  • Keep other employees aware of health and safety practices and activities by actively observing fellow employee work practices and incorporating safety.
  • Maintain housekeeping in work area.
  • Maintain health and safety equipment in good working order.
  • Actively participate in health and safety training and demonstrate competency based on training received.
  • Participate actively in providing suggestions for the health and safety program improvement.
  • Know and implement regulatory compliance requirements in their work area.
