About The Position

Caterpillar Remanufacturing is seeking a Manufacturing Technician I to support the Reman Drivetrain team in West Fargo, ND. This role involves performing inspections of materials and verifying process results to ensure they meet specifications, requirements, and guidelines. The technician will also set up and read measuring equipment to determine the disposition of parts. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Two-year tech school degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in quality, inspection or machining preferred.
  • Background in MRP/ERP software systems as well as MS Office preferred; preference given to candidates with SAP knowledge and product knowledge.
  • Must possess ability to deal with multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections of materials and verify process results to ensure conformance to specifications, requirements, and guidelines.
  • Setup and read measuring equipment to determine disposition of parts.
  • Use precision measuring devices to effectively inspect parts.
  • Operate machinery such as hand tools and air tools.
  • Backup for computerized inspection equipment such as FARO CMM and Faro Laser tracker to measure pivot shafts as required.
  • Apply and correctly interpret reusability guidelines and determine disposition of materials.
  • Assist in the development of reusability guidelines and work instructions.
  • Perform incoming receiving inspection.
  • Perform 1st article inspections on non-standardized parts.
  • Operate pallet jacks and other moving equipment.
  • Identify issues and initiate corrective action processes as necessary.
  • Perform any duties or tasks that may be assigned to promote cross training or support for various areas of the shop.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Follow established facility safety policies, safe job procedures and hazardous risk assessments and use the proper Personal Protective equipment for the specific job being performed.

  • Hourly Pay Range: $24.33 - $30.97
  • 1st shift
  • Work Hours: 6:00AM- 4:30PM Monday - Thursday with occasional overtime on Fridays
