About The Position
We are looking for a 1st shift (M-F 6:30a-3p) Manufacturing Technician for our Westbury, NY facility. This role would be responsible for developing CNC programs, machining precision components, designing tooling and fixtures, supporting prototypes, and qualifying new products from engineering drawings and CAD models with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- 7+ years CNC machining and toolmaking experience.
- Proven CNC programming experience.
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
- Ability to independently manufacture parts from drawings.
- Mastercam, Fusion 360 or similar CAM systems
- G-Code and M-Code programming
- CNC milling and turning
- Manual machining and toolmaking
- Inspection using calipers, micrometers, indicators and height gages
Nice To Haves
- SolidWorks and CAD model interpretation preferred
Responsibilities
- Develop CNC programs using CAM software and G-code.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, models, GD&T and specifications.
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes and manual machine tools.
- Design and build fixtures, jigs, gauges and tooling.
- Manufacture prototype and production components directly from drawings.
- Perform first article inspections and dimensional validation.
- Support new product introduction and process development.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, quality and programming issues.
- Train and mentor less experienced machinists and operators.
- Support Lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
