As a Manufacturing Technician, you will assist in the manufacture of quartz components using a variety of tools and equipment. Your training will take place during the 4:00 am -12:30 pm shift, M – F. Training may last up to 12 weeks. Once you have completed training, you will move to your regular work schedule of 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm, M - F.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to accurately follow instructions.
  • Able to lift and extend with arms outstretched, up to 50 lbs. tension will be placed on thumbs, hands and wrists.
  • Able to work in loud, wet environment.
  • Ability to see small defects in glass.
  • Aptitude for learning; blueprints, machine mathematics and precision measurement equipment.
  • Able to wear all required, Company-provided safety gear during your shift. This includes goggles, aprons, boots, acid pants (optional), 2 sets of gloves, and a half mask or PAPR respirator.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Experience wearing safety equipment during shift.

Responsibilities

  • Using thumbs to firmly hold sandpaper against a part on a grinding wheel with all of your upper body strength.
  • Operate and troubleshoot automated robots that aid in grinding processes.
  • Cut glass to the required lengths, cut in bevels, slots or other features, etch off layers to perfect glass and rinse item in acid bath between all steps.
  • Produce and inspect in process products for quality and adherence to customer specifications.
  • Work in accordance with process procedures, work order instructions, drawings, and other production documents.
  • Use sandpaper and other tools to cosmetically grind, buff and polish the parts.
  • Maintain equipment.
  • Detect and correct minor machine malfunctions and perform daily and monthly machine maintenance as directed.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work area.
  • Wear and use all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) properly and in accordance with manufacturer and OSHA regulations.
  • Strictly follow all safety protocols and wear required safety gear at when working with chemicals.
