About The Position

This role involves programming, validating, troubleshooting, and optimizing ZEISS CALYPSO inspection routines for the Zeiss Contura G2 CMM. The successful candidate will operate the CMM to perform various types of dimensional inspections, interpret engineering drawings and specifications, and create/maintain documentation. Collaboration with other engineering teams and adherence to quality procedures are key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • 4+ years of experience with CMM software Zeiss CALYPSO or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Keyence machines.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD models.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and build documentation.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience programming and operating a Zeiss CMM using ZEISS CALYPSO, including experience developing and validating CMM inspection programs.
  • Proficiency with standard mechanical inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience programming a Zeiss Contura G2 or comparable Zeiss bridge CMM.
  • Familiarity with Keyence systems or other digital inspection tools.
  • Experience working in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to coach operators on inspection best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Program, validate, troubleshoot, and optimize ZEISS CALYPSO inspection routines for the Zeiss Contura G2 CMM.
  • Operate the CMM to perform first article, in-process, final, and other dimensional inspections.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T to determine inspection requirements and measurement strategies.
  • Create and maintain clear, controlled CMM program documentation and inspection records.
  • Verify CMM program results and measurement repeatability before release for production use.
  • Accurately document inspection results, nonconformances, and process discrepancies in applicable quality systems.
  • Perform supplemental dimensional and visual inspections using calibrated tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, and specialized inspection equipment.
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Production to resolve inspection and build issues.
  • Follow all applicable quality procedures, safety guidelines, and configuration-control processes.
