About The Position
The Manufacturing Technician I at Leica Biosystems assembles mechanical and optical components, including Aperio Digital Pathology scanners and related products. The position is part of the Production Team in Vista, California, and is on-site. Reporting to the Manager, Manufacturing, the technician works with the Production Operations Team in a multifunctional, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, or at least 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment in lieu of a high school diploma.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and Google Docs.
- Ability to learn and understand technical information related to the products.
- Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of assembly experience in an electromechanical production environment, ideally in medical devices.
- Experience identifying product and process issues and clearly proposing and communicating improvements.
Responsibilities
- Follow written procedures and complete required steps to assemble Aperio Digital Pathology scanners and related products.
- Perform electro-mechanical assembly.
- Route cable and harness assemblies.
- Build optical sub-assemblies.
- Conduct visual and mechanical inspections of components and assemblies.
- Install software.
- Perform basic troubleshooting.
- Identify the proper focus of optical assemblies by viewing through an eyepiece or on a computer monitor.
- Complete related paperwork.
