About The Position

ClarkDietrich, a leading manufacturer of cold-formed steel framing and interior and exterior finishing products in North America, is seeking a Manufacturing Team Member for their 2nd shift at their Rochelle location. This role involves safely setting up, operating, and adjusting metal forming equipment using appropriate tools and procedures.   • Ability to read a tape measure, caliper and micrometer accurately.
  • Personal Protective Equipment required at all times.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
  • The military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and/or experience.

Responsibilities

  • Safely set up, operate, and adjust metal forming equipment using appropriate tools and procedures.
  • Keep mill operating according to operating procedures and in good condition.
  • Operate cutback saw in a safe manner and to order specifications.
  • Keep mill and surrounding area clean and clear of obstruction.
  • Perform all change overs, using appropriate tooling.
  • Change punches and shear dies.
  • Perform to machine goals.
  • Assist in training co-workers.
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a team environment.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
  • Work safely and follow all safety rules and operational procedures.
  • Perform Lockout Procedure as required by mill specific Lockout JSA.
  • Wear and maintain all required PPE.
  • Understand all safety devices and their operation.
  • Notify management if safety devices are malfunctioning or missing prior to machine operation.
  • Perform quality checks, including using a tape measure, micrometer, and checking for straightness, bow, and camber.
  • Perform routine checks for part dimension using appropriate tools.
  • Maintain all quality paperwork in a legible manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance and notify maintenance personnel concerning any machine issues.
  • Assist maintenance personnel as directed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work station.
  • Assist material handler with changing coils and follow reject policy on rejected steel.
  • Direct, assist, and train helpers to perform necessary functions.
  • Complete required paperwork to specification.
