About The Position

The Manufacturing Team Member VI is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and adjusting multi-axis CNC milling/grinding/lathe and other various types of semi-automated equipment depending on the assigned area. This position is also responsible for troubleshooting the machine when necessary, which involves diagnosing breakdowns, disassembling equipment, and replacing defective machine components. The role involves running production jobs per written or verbal work instructions to produce quality parts while maintaining productivity standards. Responsibilities include inspecting product quality using various measuring tools, recording inspection findings, and writing detailed downtime and shift communications. The team member will read work orders and blueprints to identify specifications, review work orders for accuracy, and perform program offsets and machine adjustments to maintain quality standards. Troubleshooting major machine issues requires specialized knowledge and experience. Performing machine setups, general machine maintenance, and accurately reporting production counts are also key duties. The role requires compliance with 6S standards, participation in lean manufacturing activities, and cross-training in different machines and work areas. All other assigned duties will also be performed.

Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of related experience is required.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand basic English.
  • Ability to demonstrate basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability to perform visual quality inspections.
  • Ability to learn, problem-solve, and make decisions per work instructions and documents.
  • Ability to communicate and work as a team member.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed by the company is required.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 35 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • CNC certification or metalworking/tooling certification preferred.
  • Knowledge in operating CNC, milling, or grinding machines preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a Klein provided crane certification may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, monitor, and adjust multi-axis CNC milling/grinding/lathe or other various types of semi-automated equipment.
  • Troubleshoot machine breakdowns, diagnose issues, disassemble equipment, and replace defective components and tooling.
  • Run production jobs according to work instructions to produce quality parts and meet productivity standards.
  • Inspect product quality using measuring tools (caliper, micrometer, comparator, gauges) and record findings.
  • Write detailed downtime and shift communications in a log book.
  • Read work orders and blueprints to identify specifications for machine setup and product quality.
  • Review work orders to ensure bill of materials accuracy and correct inventory transactions.
  • Perform program offsets and machine adjustments (feed, speed, axis points) to maintain part specifications and quality.
  • Perform machine setups, including changing fixtures, inserts, tooling bars, and selecting/loading programs.
  • Perform general machine maintenance (cleaning, checking oil and coolant levels).
  • Report accurate counts of production parts, scrap, and labor hours via paperwork or electronic entry.
  • Comply with 6S standards and participate in lean manufacturing activities.
  • Cross-train by rotating to different machines and work areas.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
