About The Position
The Manufacturing Team Lead plays a critical role in overseeing daily production operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety standards are consistently met. This position is responsible for leading a team of manufacturing associates, coordinating workflow, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes. The Team Lead acts as a liaison between management and production staff, facilitating clear communication and timely resolution of operational challenges. They are instrumental in maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements while fostering a positive and productive work environment. Ultimately, the role ensures that production goals are achieved on time and within budget, contributing directly to the overall success of the manufacturing facility.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- At least 1 year in a supervisory or team lead role
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, safety standards, and quality control procedures
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced production setting
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and production management software
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s degree or higher in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or related discipline
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced production scheduling tools
- Certification in safety management or supervisory training programs
- Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional teams and driving operational excellence
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of manufacturing team members to meet production targets and quality standards.
- Monitor daily production schedules and adjust resources as needed to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to team members to support their development and improve productivity.
- Collaborate with maintenance and quality assurance teams to address equipment issues and quality concerns promptly.
- Lead continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing waste, improving processes, and increasing operational efficiency.
- Prepare and maintain production reports, documenting team performance and operational metrics.
- Facilitate effective communication between management and production staff to ensure alignment on goals and expectations.
