About The Position

KLA is seeking an engineer to support the manufacturing, integration, and continuous improvement of complex semiconductor capital equipment. The position works closely with Systems, Mechanical, Optics, Software, and Manufacturing teams to support new product introduction (NPI), continuous improvement projects, manufacturing readiness, and production issue resolution. It is a hands-on role focused on hardware, technical problem-solving on the manufacturing floor, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and using data to improve how sophisticated systems are built and tested. The engineer will help transition new designs into repeatable manufacturing processes, develop and maintain manufacturing methods and documentation, troubleshoot build and test issues, and use analysis to identify and address manufacturing and product problems. The role also supports cost estimates, manufacturing data analysis, BOMs, drawing updates, and quality and efficiency improvements. It supports global engineering and manufacturing teams in the U.S., Europe, and Asia and requires up to 15% domestic and international travel. The role requires a bachelor's or master's degree in a related technical field and hands-on experience supporting manufacturing, integration, assembly, testing, or troubleshooting of complex equipment or electromechanical systems. The posting's minimum qualifications specify a doctorate with 0 years of related experience, a master's degree with 3 years, or a bachelor's degree with 5 years. The listed base pay range is $106,700–$181,400 annually. KLA's total rewards package may include performance incentives and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life and voluntary insurance, 401(k) with company matching, employee stock purchase, student debt assistance, tuition reimbursement, development and career growth programs, financial planning benefits, wellness benefits, paid time off, paid company holidays, and family care and bonding leave.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Applied Physics, Applied Optics, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on engineering experience supporting the manufacturing, integration, assembly, testing, or troubleshooting of complex equipment or electromechanical systems.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, BOMs, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis, failure analysis, corrective action, and structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Experience working with manufacturing data, statistical analysis, or process control methods.
  • Exposure to Python, scripting, data analytics, or automation tools used to improve engineering or manufacturing workflows.
  • Strong interest in working directly with hardware and solving problems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Minimum qualifications: doctorate (academic) and 0 years of related work experience; master's degree and 3 years of related work experience; or bachelor's degree and 5 years of related work experience.
