The Manufacturing Systems Engineer designs, builds, integrates, supports, and improves applications and workflows used by WPI’s manufacturing teams. Reporting to the Operations Systems Manager, this hands-on technical role serves as the technical owner for assigned applications, with QuickBase as the primary platform. The engineer configures applications, builds workflows and integrations, troubleshoots issues, and delivers solutions from requirements through production support. Success involves understanding WPI’s operations and delivering solutions that are adopted, documented, reliable, and supportable. The role owns and continuously improves assigned manufacturing execution system applications, including their data models, access, workflows, automations, dashboards, and reports. It develops and supports integrations among QuickBase, Procore, Viewpoint Vista, Microsoft 365, and other WPI systems, using APIs, connectors, webhooks, scripting, and low-code tools. The engineer also maintains technical documentation, develops user guidance and training, provides advanced support, and transitions new solutions into sustainable operational support. The position is primarily office-based, with responsibilities across the organization. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for maintenance, upgrades, releases, or operational needs. Travel to manufacturing offices is approximately once per quarter. Compensation is commensurate with experience, qualifications, and demonstrated skills. Career growth may span manufacturing technology, enterprise applications, integration, automation, data, business-process improvement, and solution engineering.
