About The Position

The Manufacturing Support Team Member will be responsible for supporting the Engineering Prototype Lab’s operations, cost control, inventory management, and vendor coordination. This role involves performing cost-control analysis and reporting on overhead spend, IRAD dollars, and capital-project tasks. The team member will maintain manpower data, inventory, and tooling metrics to support daily shop activities. They will also interface with vendors to acquire shop tooling, consumables, and engineering supplies, process invoices, receive and stock items, and serve as the Business Operations point of contact. Participation in Performance Management Team activities and providing administrative support are also key aspects of this role. This position offers the chance to make a tangible impact on cutting-edge missile and fire-control projects while working alongside highly skilled machinists, programmers, and fabricators.

Requirements

  • One or more years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree OR one or more years with a Master's degree in Manufacturing, Finance, Production Control or equivalent.
  • Basic Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication & assembly.
  • Competency utilizing MS Excel and other Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) tools and data sets.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • This position requires a government security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with manufacturing process flows in a machine shop environment.
  • Ability to develop and produce reports that provide meaningful manufacturing metrics, applicable to a prototype development capability.
  • Experience working in a job-shop or “build to print environment”.
  • Knowledge of LM systems such as SAP, Apriso, and others for ordering and tracking hardware.
  • Prior experience executing capital improvement projects would be beneficial.
  • Prior experience in Production Planning & Control or Material Procurement would be beneficial.
