Graphic Packaging International produces paper-based packaging for various well-known brands. The Shift Supervisor role provides leadership and supervision to production work teams, acting as a liaison between the teams and plant management. This role involves facilitating team meetings, ensuring team goals align with company objectives, and developing team members' potential. The supervisor is responsible for team member safety, product quality, productivity, equipment condition, and department housekeeping. Additionally, the role requires ensuring compliance with food safety, food defense, and quality policies, including GMPs and sanitation procedures. The supervisor must promote a clean and orderly work environment, enforce safety procedures, and ensure compliance with SQF, HACCP, and Food/Safety Defense standards. Participation in SQF-related activities such as root cause analysis, corrective actions, audits, and validations is expected, as is addressing customer complaints. Identifying and reporting unsafe conditions or customer concerns is also a key responsibility. The role oversees daily shift operations, including scheduling, material handling, and issue resolution, while leading, training, and supporting team members to meet quality standards and production goals. Personnel matters, including discipline and performance support, are managed by the supervisor, who also acts as a communication link between team members and management. Assisting with problem-solving, product testing, and development activities, along with performing other assigned duties, are also part of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and supervision to production work teams.

  • Responsible for compliance with all facility food safety, food defense, and quality policies and procedures including product safety (GMPs)/Sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Promotes the orderliness and cleanliness of their work area in support of SQF/5S and other company standards.
  • Enforces and supports safety procedures to meet departmental and plant safety goals in coordination with the Safety Manager.
  • Promotes a safe work environment and ensures compliance with SQF, HACCP, and Food/Safety Defense standards.
  • Participates in SQF root cause analysis, corrective actions, audits, validations, and addresses customer complaints as needed.
  • Identifies and reports unsafe conditions or customer concerns to appropriate personnel.
