The Manufacturing Supervisor at Mott is a hands-on leader who serves as a mentor, coach, and role model for frontline manufacturing teams. The Manufacturing Supervisor partners closely with Value Stream Managers and cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives that reduce lead time, improve quality, control cost, and enhance the overall employee experience. Success in this role is measured through safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with a minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing experience.
  • Prior direct supervisory or people-management experience.
  • Demonstrated success in problem solving, project execution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production equipment.
  • Experience leading teams and managing employee performance and development.
  • Technical and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Self-directed, results-driven, and highly accountable.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Effective at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Action-oriented with a strong commitment to completing priorities.
  • Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and track competency development of manufacturing operators.
  • Manage daily workflow and staffing to ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality standards.
  • Support and execute continuous improvement initiatives across all shifts, including equipment testing, training, 5S, automation, and process simplification.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and teamwork.
  • Ensure effective communication across shifts, including structured handoffs of priorities and issues.
