About The Position

Eaton Aerospace’s FED Division is seeking a MANUFACTURING Front Line Leader at our Beltsville, MD location. This role requires working on-site M-F at our Beltsville, MD manufacturing location. Typical 2nd shift work hours are 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm. The Front Line Leader is responsible for directing the daily activities and development of 15-40 hourly employees while also acting as the operations leader within the integrated process team, which includes manufacturing engineering, quality control, human resources, and materials and logistics. This person is responsible for driving operational excellence and building organizational capability to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Cost and Culture objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of manufacturing experience OR a High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing.
  • 2 years supervising manufacturing teams.
  • All positions require use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms regulations. All applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. Person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of the Beltsville MD facility will be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited institution.
  • Previous Aerospace/ Automotive experience.
  • Previous experience with Quality Systems.
  • Lean/CI experience a plus (Green Belt preferred)
  • Prior experience working with shipping, receiving, material movement and production planning software/processes preferred
  • Knowledge of inventory control systems and transactions
  • Prior experience with assembly MFG. processes.
  • Prior experience line balancing/ time studies.
  • Continuous Improvement project experience.
  • Knowledge of CNC machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Strong project management / problem solving skills.
  • Must possess effective and verbal communications skills.
  • Must possess good organizational and prioritization skills to maintain and address multiple assigned projects and expectations.

  • Partner with team leads to coordinate daily manufacturing schedules and priorities within the production plan to satisfy and exceed customer requirements around delivery and quality.
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts by standardizing processes, engaging employees in problem solving, and driving daily accountability.
  • Partner with customer account representatives to ensure proactive customer communication and focus on delivering on our commitments.
  • Champion a Safety Culture through using MESH tools, safety best practices, and empowering all employees to take responsibility for their own and others’ safety.
  • Forecast production capacity and provide insight into monthly cross-functional reviews of financial and operational planning.
