About The Position

Baker Hughes is seeking a Manufacturing Specialist to manage the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of inventory reclaim activities. This role focuses on maximizing asset recovery and improving inventory utilization by working closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Production Planning, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and external reclaim vendors. The specialist will leverage data analytics, SAP, and cross-functional collaboration to reduce obsolete inventory, improve recovery rates, and deliver measurable financial benefits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Logistics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in inventory management, materials planning, supply chain operations, asset recovery, or related disciplines.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Experience supporting inventory optimization, materials management, or supply chain initiatives.
  • Current work authorization in the country of employment.

  • Experience with inventory analysis, reclaim planning, asset recovery, or reverse logistics processes.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and Scheduling: Develop and maintain reclaim plans and schedules aligned with operational priorities and business objectives. Review available inventory and identify reclaim opportunities based on inventory age, condition, demand, reuse potential, and financial impact. Prioritize reclaims activities to ensure efficient resource utilization and timely material disposition. Coordinate movement of reclaim inventory between manufacturing facilities, warehouses, service centers, suppliers, and reclaim vendors. Monitor reclaims workload, workflow, and capacity to ensure activities are completed on time.
  • Inventory Management: Analyze inventory data to identify excess, obsolete, slow-moving, non-conforming, and recoverable materials. Manage reclaim inventory transactions and material disposition activities within SAP and related systems. Ensure inventory records remain accurate through audits, transaction validation, and reconciliation activities. Support inventory accuracy initiatives, cycle counts, and aged inventory reduction programs. Develop action plans to reduce inventory exposure, improve inventory turns, and support working capital objectives.
  • Asset Recovery and Financial Performance: Maximize recovery value through refurbishment, repair, reuse, recycling, and salvage opportunities. Track and report financial benefits including cost avoidance, recovery value, inventory reduction, and scrap reduction. Identify trends and opportunities to improve reclaim efficiency, recovery rates, and overall financial performance. Partner with Finance teams to validate savings, recovery benefits, and reclaim-related business impact.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, Finance, and Operations teams to align reclaim priorities. Support disposition review meetings and provide recommendations for excess, obsolete, returned, and non-conforming inventory. Coordinate reclaims activities with third-party vendors, repair suppliers, recycling partners, and service providers. Communicate reclaim status, risks, constraints, and opportunities to stakeholders and leadership teams. Assist in resolving inventory, disposition, material availability, and vendor-related issues.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Generate and maintain weekly, monthly, and quarterly reclaim reports, dashboards, and KPI metrics. Analyze reclaim performance trends and identify opportunities for process improvement. Develop reporting tools and performance metrics that improve visibility, accountability, and decision-making. Present reclaim performance results, recovery values, inventory reduction achievements, and risks to leadership teams. Maintain accurate documentation supporting reclaim transactions, audits, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within reclaim and inventory management processes. Drive initiatives to reduce reclaim cycle times, improve material flow, and increase recovery rates. Participate in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and operational excellence projects. Support standardization of reclaim procedures, work instructions, reporting methods, and best practices. Develop and maintain process documentation and training materials related to reclaim activities.
  • Quality, Safety, and Compliance: Ensure reclaim activities comply with Health, Safety, Environment, Quality, and regulatory requirements. Support internal and external audits related to inventory, reclaim transactions, and asset recovery processes. Maintain documentation, traceability, and required approvals for reclaim, repair, recovery, and scrap activities. Promote a strong safety culture and identify opportunities to reduce risk during material handling, transportation, and storage.
