About The Position

The Lab Technician is an integral member of the Trialco Operations team and will report to the Quality Manager and Quality Supervisor. In addition to Lab testing, the Lab Technician position is expected to interact with all operations personnel who interact with the Lab.

Requirements

High School Diploma
Experience working within a manufacturing operation.
Professional communication skills working with other departments and employees.
lab tech: 3 years (Required)
Spectrometer: 3 years (Required)
Ability to Commute: Chicago Heights, IL 60411 (Required)

Nice To Haves

Three + years of on-the-job experience.
Working knowledge of metal chemistry, scrap handling and melt practices.
BA in Engineering, Material Science, or another related field.
Day Shift (Preferred)

Responsibilities

Optimizing spectrometers (Optical Emission Spectrometry (OES) metal analyzers) for measuring specific alloys.
Determining appropriate alloy standards / reference materials required for measurement of produced alloys.
Verifying chemistries of produced alloys (including small alloys containing silicon (Si), magnesium (Mg), manganese (Mn), and titanium (Ti).
Verifying chemistries of incoming and outgoing materials.
Determining chemistries of miscellaneous/test material sent by other companies.
Maintaining and verifying lab equipment functionality.
Basic lab housekeeping.
Visually inspecting aluminum alloy ingot and sow surface condition/quality.
Verifying printed label weights for ingot bundles and sows, ensuring accuracy.
Other duties as assigned by manager or upper management.
