About The Position

The Manufacturing Quality Supervisor leads a team of quality technicians to oversee daily quality operations within Carestream’s Digital Radiography manufacturing plant to ensure products meet all customer, regulatory, and internal specifications. This role is responsible for driving continuous improvement across critical quality metrics and resolving production and material issues for incoming, in-process, and final materials. The person in this role will partner closely with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to prevent defects, improve processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, this role is essential for improving product reliability, reducing scrap and rework, and driving quality improvements that enhance customer satisfaction and operational performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in a technical degree +/or 5+ years of manufacturing experience
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership, ideally in quality manufacturing improvements
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using quality tools or Lean/Six Sigma methods to improve manufacturing performance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Willing and able to travel up to 10% if needed

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification
  • Experience with supplier quality
  • Using data to drive decision making and quality improvements
  • Familiarity with ISO13485 and MDSAP requirements
  • Experience with SAP systems or other ERP systems

Responsibilities

  • Monitor manufacturing and supplier quality performance using established quality metrics to identify areas for improvement
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of quality technicians supporting production, engineering, and supply chain activities
  • Supervise the team to implement changes targeted at reducing the number of manufacturing defects, improving supplier quality performance, and supporting manufacturing operations
  • Organize gemba walks, lead the team in performing root-cause investigations, and manage corrective and preventative actions to drive sustainable improvement in manufacturing quality
  • Lead projects to improve manufacturing quality performance
  • Oversee incoming material inspection, testing, and disposition to meet manufacturing schedule objectives
  • Ensure accurate documentation and handling of non-conforming materials
  • Promote compliance with ISO 13485, MDSAP, and good documentation practices (GDP)
  • Participate in supplier quality assessments and audits as required
