Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a similar technical field.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in quality engineering focusing on manufacturing quality within the electrical industry or a related industry.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification or higher.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated use of statistical analysis/SPC.
  • Demonstrated track record of supporting large-scale quality improvement projects.
  • Proven ability to solve quality problems and implement effective process improvements.
  • Sound knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), including ISO 9001.
  • Demonstrated experience in process analytics with a broad knowledge of quality tools and industry metrics.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the quality function.
  • Good project management skills, able to successfully lead small project teams through challenges.
  • Sound organizational and multitasking skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Sound attention to detail with an analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, navigate and resolve conflict, moderate behaviors, and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience.
  • Good communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation).
  • Able to liaise with key stakeholders outside the quality function in technical and non-technical roles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc), including excellent Excel skills and experience using Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute projects that address manufacturing quality issues and optimize processes.
  • Analyze production and quality data to identify trends, develop solutions, and track progress.
  • Support major problem-solving efforts related to production quality, acting as a key contributor and knowledge source for the functions.
  • Contribute to customer escape containment and resolution activities by analyzing defects, implementing corrective actions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing quality.
  • Support efforts to reduce the cost of poor quality (COPQ), participating in production stop and stop-ship events, assisting with root cause analysis, and implementing corrective measures to enhance quality performance.
  • Review prints and acceptance criteria for accuracy, assisting with defect identification, disposition, and deviation processes to ensure compliance with manufacturing standards.
  • Develop and refine manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce defects.
  • Provide quality support for operations, working closely with production teams to address quality-related issues and drive continuous improvements.
  • Support the resolution of complex quality issues, utilizing advanced problem-solving tools to identify root causes and implement effective preventative measures.
  • Utilize quality feedback and metrics to identify opportunities for design and process improvements, driving data-driven decision-making across the company.
  • Support other quality engineers in their work, setting standards and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the quality engineering team.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating relevant advancements into the company’s approach to quality engineering.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Attend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or required.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with others.
