The Manufacturing Engineer III will work/lead independently to prepare, conduct, and evaluate analyses for planning improvements and problem-solving for manufacturing issues (production methods and procedures) in a specific function. This includes layout, production flow, tooling and production equipment, material fabrication, assembly methods, and planning in a Production or Post-Production environment. The role involves performing technical studies, analyzing operations, preparing recommendations for equipment and manufacturing methods, authoring work instructions, rework instructions, and managing MBOM in SAP/Solumina/Corridor. The engineer will also generate make-or-buy proposals, evaluate vendors, conduct research, investigate equipment and facility requests, perform productibility studies, apply statistical methods, and prioritize workloads. Keeping current on manufacturing developments, incorporating Lean Manufacturing Methodology, and developing business cases for process improvements are key aspects of this position. The role may also involve assuming duties of the ME Group Head in their absence, assigning and reviewing work of subordinates, supervising and training, and leading/coordinating cross-organizational projects. Application of Lean and Six Sigma principles, support for safety, sustainability, and ergonomic initiatives, and ensuring quality policies are practiced are also essential. The position requires the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
